The IT architecture that knits all these technologies together is a critical determining factor of the reliability, security, and flexibility, with major implications for program cost, sustainability, suitability for different use cases, the ability to protect personal data, and the adaptability of the system over time.
Devising an IT architecture that balances all these factors effectively is a major undertaking, requiring expert input from technologists, ID practitioners, and other stakeholders.
